State Qualifiers

These Peak Gymnastics Girls ROCK!!!
The team has had qualifiers to virtually every level in which Peak has competed this year!
Olivia Bannerot qualified to Level 9 State, placed on vault and narrowly missed making Regionals.
Victoria Hernandez, Michelle McKinlay, and Kellie Coyle qualified to Level 8 State....Victoria placed 3rd on Vault and qualified to Regionals (to be held in Auburn, second weekend in April...
Sarah Wooton and Taylor Amsbaugh made Level 5 Sectionals, botn narrowly missing qualifying to State, and at Level 4
Elise Dunning and Hannah McGinnes qualified to State out of the South Sectional Championships....
more to come, a great year for the Peak girls to date!!

Peak Gymnasts Challenge for Honors at Great Wolf Invitational

All three squads of Peak Experience Gymnastics from Enumclaw were in action over the weekend at the Great Wolf Invitational in Centralia.
Each of Peak’s Level Four squad (Elizabeth Bozich, Elise Dunning, Erin and Hannah McGinnis,Willow and Leah Perry,and Ping Tan) participated in her first ever competition, and scored well enough collectively to place 9th of the 19 clubs represented at the meet.

Taylor Ansbaugh, Monica Estes, and Sarah Wooten led Peak to an 8th team finish at compulsory Level 5.

The Optional squad garnered numerous places including Victoria Herandez winning Level 8 Vault, Olivia Bannerot’s Silver Medals on Vault, Bars, and Bronze in All-Around at Level 9. Kelly Coyle finished 3rd on Vault, Bars, and Level 8 All-Around and Bri’Anna Reisinger’s Bronze in Level 7 Vault rounded out the honors for the Enumclaw contingent. Tiana Johnston and Nikki Wilson narrowly missed out on individual awards.

Head Coach Hannah Holt commented afterwards: “We were pleased with the effort, and happy that the girls had such a good time at this meet. That said, we’ve got a lot of work and room for improvement ahead of us.”

Peak Gymnastics next competition will be the annual “Rock n’ Roll Classic in Vancouver Washington on February 6 and 7.

PEAK GYMNASTS PLACE THIRD AT SNOWFLAKE CLASSIC

The Peak Gymnastics Girls Team won the Bronze trophy for Level 8-9 teams at Saturday's 12th annual Snowflake Classic in Lakewood. Led by Molly Matthius and Olivia Bannerot who
placed 6th and 7th in Level 9 All-Around, the Enumclaw girls accumulated 109.75 points to rank them third
among the 12 clubs participating.

Level 8 Victoria Hernandez won a silver medal on vault, and finished second in the All-Around.
Also contributing to the team total were Kelly Coyle and Nikki Wilson who garnered a career-high 8.25
on floor. Earlier in the day, Sarah Wooton, Monica Estes, and Taylor Ansbaugh placed in the top 25 in their
Level 5 group.

On Sunday, the Peak men's program competed at the 40th Washington Open at the University of Washington; coach Nashwan al-Harazi, (a 2008 Olympian) dominated the Senior competition by winning
every event (floor, pommels, vault, parallel bars) in which he participated.



Peak Gymnastics next competition will be the Great Wolf Invitational in Centralia on January 23 and 24.

NEW YEARS EVE SLEEPOVER!!

Our New Years Eve Sleepover is tomorrow, December 31st starting at 8:30pm til 8:30am Jan 1st!!  This sleepover is going to be tons of fun for the kids to ring in the New Year!  We'll have pizza, party favors and lots of games that night and the next morning the kids will get breakfast with juice and a muffin before the parents have to pick them up.

It is only $25 a child (ages 5-15) and please register by Noon on Thursday, Dec 31st.  You can call or come in to register!!

Peak Experience Gymnastics is gettin' ready to ROCK n' ROLL in 2010!!!!
Our first competition is Jan. 9 at the Lakewood YMCA "Snowball Classic".....the girls have been working r-e-a-l-l-y hard to perfect (well, let's say at this point "get better/go to a significantly higher level") their routines.....
on the 10th, our Olympic gymnast, Nashwan al-Harazi is scheduled to compete at the Washington Open at the UW in Seattle.....
there's lots more coming up, but suffice to say, this is the most exciting time for Peak and gymnastics in the south-King County area EVER!!!
for those of you who aren't team kids,
GET YOUR HEINIES TO the GYM for NEW YEAR'S EVE!!!!
It's going to be the most fun New Years ever.......

(super secret stuff:)........2010 is going to be filled with amazing and totally rockin' cool stuff (that means it's going to be "great" for you hip-hoppers who have no idea who Chuck Berry is (shame on you!!!).........

updates/news!

Coach Jim here....
for the record (see post below), it's now 12 World Championships (and hopefully still counting!).....
1. book: trust me, it's a GREAT READ!!! Tons of fun for the whole family, even non-gymnastics people should enjoy all the nonsense and trouble I've managed to stumble into ("into which I've managed to stumble" for you grammarians!) over the years.....

2. "no Olivia, you're not in it....text was written before Hannah and I came to Peak...."

3. "no Tiana, you're not in it....see above...."

4. "no Victoria.....sheesh!!!"

5. IMPORTANT: try to get into the habit of checking this blog from time to time, then regularly, then daily.....there are LOTS of GREAT activities and projects we've got planned for Peak Experience Gymnastics in 2010, and here's the easiest place to "get all the good stuff!"
