Peak Gymnasts Challenge for Honors at Great Wolf Invitational

All three squads of Peak Experience Gymnastics from Enumclaw were in action over the weekend at the Great Wolf Invitational in Centralia.
Each of Peak’s Level Four squad (Elizabeth Bozich, Elise Dunning, Erin and Hannah McGinnis,Willow and Leah Perry,and Ping Tan) participated in her first ever competition, and scored well enough collectively to place 9th of the 19 clubs represented at the meet.

Taylor Ansbaugh, Monica Estes, and Sarah Wooten led Peak to an 8th team finish at compulsory Level 5.

The Optional squad garnered numerous places including Victoria Herandez winning Level 8 Vault, Olivia Bannerot’s Silver Medals on Vault, Bars, and Bronze in All-Around at Level 9. Kelly Coyle finished 3rd on Vault, Bars, and Level 8 All-Around and Bri’Anna Reisinger’s Bronze in Level 7 Vault rounded out the honors for the Enumclaw contingent. Tiana Johnston and Nikki Wilson narrowly missed out on individual awards.

Head Coach Hannah Holt commented afterwards: “We were pleased with the effort, and happy that the girls had such a good time at this meet. That said, we’ve got a lot of work and room for improvement ahead of us.”

Peak Gymnastics next competition will be the annual “Rock n’ Roll Classic in Vancouver Washington on February 6 and 7.

PEAK GYMNASTS PLACE THIRD AT SNOWFLAKE CLASSIC

The Peak Gymnastics Girls Team won the Bronze trophy for Level 8-9 teams at Saturday's 12th annual Snowflake Classic in Lakewood. Led by Molly Matthius and Olivia Bannerot who
placed 6th and 7th in Level 9 All-Around, the Enumclaw girls accumulated 109.75 points to rank them third
among the 12 clubs participating.

Level 8 Victoria Hernandez won a silver medal on vault, and finished second in the All-Around.
Also contributing to the team total were Kelly Coyle and Nikki Wilson who garnered a career-high 8.25
on floor. Earlier in the day, Sarah Wooton, Monica Estes, and Taylor Ansbaugh placed in the top 25 in their
Level 5 group.

On Sunday, the Peak men's program competed at the 40th Washington Open at the University of Washington; coach Nashwan al-Harazi, (a 2008 Olympian) dominated the Senior competition by winning
every event (floor, pommels, vault, parallel bars) in which he participated.



Peak Gymnastics next competition will be the Great Wolf Invitational in Centralia on January 23 and 24.
