The US Center for SafeSport is an independent non-profit organization that has exclusive authority given to them by the "Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017" and the Bylaws of the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee to investigate and resolve possible SafeSport Code violations involving sexual misconduct.

The SafeSport Code defines the US Center for SafeSport's authority and jurisdiction, prohibited categories of abuse and misconduct, and the Center's process for responding to and resolving abuse and misconduct claims affecting the US Olympic and Paralympic Movement.
